Day 1
Start your day at Taksim Square
On the first day of exploring Istanbul, I would recommend starting at Taksim square which is perfect for its vibrant atmosphere and perfect for exploring the local shops down. If you are into beautiful architecture I would recommend going to the Taksim Mosque which is just absolutely stunning but be respectful of the people praying.
When you get hungry there are many different places to choose from but I would recommend Taksim Donner, the donner is very fresh and it is made very quickly, as you continue exploring Taksim square you can will come across many ice cream stalls where you can try the famous Turkish ice cream, it is a very fun experience as you try to get the ice cream.
Walk to Galata Tower for Unmatched Views
Once done exploring Taksim Square I would walk to Galata Tower where you can get an incredible view of the city and see the sea, giving you a sense of where things are and where you would like to go. Once you’ve taken all the picture and taken in the scenery i would recommend going to the cafe across the tower called Lavazza Best Coffee Shop where you can enjoy bakery good while enjoying the view of the tower, i would recommend trying the famous Sebastian cheesecake while you are here.
Take a boat ride along Istanbul’s Coastline
From here you can take a half and hour walk to the harbor and take a boat ride for as little as £3, the ride lasts about 30 mins and gives you a unique view of the city and lets you appreciate the city’s rich landscapes.
